Live Music & Concerts in Bristol

Live music runs deep in Bristol's veins and the city has been home to some of the most influential and culturally relevant British musicians in the last 40 years including Massive Attack, IDLES, Tricky, Portishead and Roni Size.

Bristol has a plethora of gigs going on at any given time, from big name touring acts to hot new bands. We've rounded up the gigs, concerts and music festivals in Bristol over the next weeks and months, so browse them below.

Music venues

The city’s music venues range from grand concert halls including Bristol Beacon and St George’s Bristol, to quirkier spaces such as Trinity Centre in Old Market, The Folk House on Park Street and Lost Horizon near Cabot Circus. You can even watch live music on a boat aboard Thekla or The Grain Barge!

Some of Bristol's most iconic music venues include The Louisiana, The Fleece and city centre jazz pub The Old Duke.

Smaller arts and music venues hosting gigs and club nights include Dareshack, Zed Alley, Strange Brew, Mr Wolf's, The Jam Jar, Rough Trade and The Exchange.

The O2 Academy Bristol and The Anson Rooms host some of the world's best-known bands, while record stores across the city host regular live music nights.

Stokes Croft and Gloucester Road have their fair share of gig venues too, whether you're watching bands at The Gallimaufry, The Full Moon, The Crofters Rights or The Love Inn. The Canteen also hosts free music several nights a week.

Bristol hosts heaps of music festivals across the year too, from Love Saves The Day in May to harbourside concerts throughout summer. Head just outside Bristol to enjoy lakeside performances at Valley Fest, or concerts in the forest at Westonbirt Arboretum's Forest Live. 

Clubbing and late night venues

Bristol loves to party, and boasts some incredible nightclubs, including Motion (which always features towards the top of the Top 100 Clubs in the World by DJ Mag) and the legendary Lakota in Stokes Croft. 

Basement 45 is one of the city's most popular dubstep and techno clubs, while SWX hosts a range of big names throughout the year.
