Home > Guide Book > Explore Bristol's Districts
The city is made up of a series of districts, each with their own unique charm and style.
In central Bristol you'll find Broadmead, Bristol's central shopping area and the Old City, brimming with history and stunning architecture.
Discover the historic Harbourside or head to West End, Whiteladies Road and Clifton Village, ideal for shopping, eating and relaxing amongst splendid Georgian terraces.
To the east lies Bristol's culturally diverse Eastside where you'll find unique restaurants and shops offering food, gifts and fabric from around the world.
Head South and you'll find the lively areas of Southville, Bedminster and Totterdown, popular areas of the city.
Or relax in the rural haven of Bristol's suburbs, where you'll find the picturesque market towns of Thornbury, Castle Combe and Chipping Sodbury
Hotwells and Cliftonwood lie just South of Clifton village and offer a unique charm all of their own. Wander the snaking streets of Cliftonwood, lined with rainbow coloured houses and welcoming local pubs, or take a walk along the historic waterfront of Hotwells where the relics of Bristol's industrial past can still be seen.
