Things to See and Do

Every summer the harbourside comes alive for the spectacular EDF Energy Bristol Harbour Festival.

One of the best ways to see it all is by taking a historic Bristol harbour shipsharbour cruise or a trip along the Avon Gorge with the Bristol Ferry Boat Company or the Bristol Packet. Cruises are also available on the Waverley, the last sea-going paddle steamer, and the Balmoral from Bristol to Penarth and North Devon.

The harbour has been awarded four gold anchors by the Yacht Harbour Association for its top quality facilities and high standards and is also home to the newly renovated Brunel's ss Great Britain and Arnolfini.

Eating and Drinking

The harbourside is lined with bars, restaurants, museums and art galleries in converted transit sheds and tea warehouses. Severnshed, Mud Dock, Riverstation, Arnolfini Cafe Bar all offer great food with views over the harbour.

Where to Stay

The Mercure Brigstow Hotel and Jury's Bristol Hotel are centrally located and offer wonderful harbour views. Waterside views are also offered at apartments including Bristol Harbour Homes and Waterside. Bristol Backpackers Hostel and Bristol YHA offer budget accommodation.
