One park, one nature reserve and two community spaces in Bristol have won national acclaim in the 2007 prestigious Green Flag and Green Pennants Awards.
These awards are presented annually and recognise the best green spaces in the country.
The Downs and Troopers Hill nature reserve won Green Flag Awards, while Easter Gardens and Redcliffe Open Space both won Green Pennant Awards.
Parks and green spaces are judged on their individual merits and suitability to the community they serve. The winning of a Green Flag or Green Pennant is a nationally-recognised symbol of a high quality green space.
Both The Downs and Troopers Hill are areas of outstanding natural beauty, attracting thousands of visitors every year - and best of all, they're right in the heart of the city for local people to enjoy.
