Colston Hall Bristol is delighted to announce its autumn season and as the building work on the New Foyer Development gets under way it's business as usual with one of its busiest opening periods for several years.
As always there's a huge selection of artists with something for everyone. Female pop sensations KT Tunstall and Beverley Knight pay Bristol a visit on Monday 22 October and Tuesday 20 November. Folk is in full swing this season with Kate Rusby on Thursday 4 October, Christy Moore on Tuesday 23 October, Ray Lamontagne on Saturday 27 October and The Imagined Village on Friday 16 November which features artists including Billy Bragg and reworks the English songbook.
Jools Holland swings by for his annual visit on Friday 2 November with a whole host of special guests including Lulu who rocked the house last year. The sounds of the 70's come from Gilbert O'Sullivan on Sunday 4 November and don't miss the original Beachboy, Brian Wilson, on Tuesday 18 September.
Colston Hall's popular Leftfield season opens with a brand new score for the silent film classic Pandora's Box on Saturday 15 September. The Bajofondo Tango Club build on the work of the Gotan Project with their electronica version of the tango on Friday 19 October and the Cinematic Orchestra return on Wednesday 31 October. There's jazz in the bar from outspoken Israeli Gilad Atzmon on Wednesday 14 October and son of Southmead, Keith Tippet returns on Tuesday 27 November with an octet of musicians to perform a brand new composition.
Classical music come from the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio playing the beguiling Scheherazade by Rimsky Korsakov on Friday 28 September and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra celebrate the wonderful music of Rachmaninov on Thursday 11 and Thursday 25 October.
There's comedy for all with Frank Skinner (Tuesday 6 November), Alan Carr (Friday 26 October), Jimmy Carr (Friday 30 November) and Jim Davidson (Sunday 25 November) all taking to the stage, plus three sold out dates from Scottish funnyman Billy Connolly.
