Zoo Autumn saver for senior citizens

Bristol Zoo Gardens is offering half price entry for senior citizens this autumn.

Visitors over the age of 60 will be able to meet more than 450 species of animals, from tiny insects and fish, to penguins, meerkats and gorillas, all for 50 per cent off.

So why not take the grandchildren along for a fun-filled day out? Simply print out a discount voucher from Bristol Zoo Gardens' website at www.bristolzoo.org.uk and take it along to the Zoo for half priced entry between September 20 and October 20, 2008.

As well of the hundreds of different animals at home at the Zoo, why not take in the impressive 12-acre grounds while you are there? Bristol Zoo's gardening team work hard to make sure the grounds look their best all year round, and last month the Zoo won a prestigious Bristol in Bloom award.

The Zoo won gold in the 'Best Commercial and Industrial Landscape' category.

The award reflects the whole Zoo, as the judges not only take in to consideration the landscape, but many other factors such as cleanliness and recycling initiatives.

Eddie Mole, curator of horticulture at Bristol Zoo Gardens, said: "With schools starting a new academic year, Autumn is one of the warmest and quietest times to visit the Zoo. Our 12-acre grounds are rich with autumn colour and all walkways are easily accessible and wheelchair friendly. There are plenty of benches for visitors to sit and relax surrounded by trees, plants, and colourful herbaceous borders."

To qualify for the autumn half price offer simply log on to the Zoo's website at www.bristolzoo.org.uk and print off a copy of the 'Senior Citizens Saver - Half Price Voucher', complete it and present it at the main gate on arrival. Alternatively contact the Zoo by telephone on 0117 974 7300. Vouchers are only redeemable between September 20 and October 20, 2008.
