WWT Slimbridge Wetlands Centre

None

World famous conservation and education centre started by the late Sir Peter Scott, sited by the River Severn on 700 acres. The largest collection of waterfowl in the world. Visit the tropical house, pond zone, sustainable garden, restaurant, shop and Hanson discovery area.

With an astounding array of wildlife from Water Voles to waders, hares to dragonflies, Slimbridge is the only place in the world where you can see all six species of Flamingo.

A year round programme of walks, arts, events, workshops, talks and spectacular wildlife encounters are a fantastic way for everyone to connect to their natural surroundings.

Don't miss the new interactive crane school - don a disguise to join the Great Crane Project. Visit the new marsh garden where cranes are being reared. Here you can help the team walk the cranes to school or even take part in some of the lessons,

Visitors can now join Slimbridge’s very own toad keeper each day to meet frogs, toads, newts and salamanders including the very grumpy Mr Custard, an American Bullfrog with attitude at the New Toad Hall.

The indoor attraction is home to all seven native species of amphibian, several non native species which have been introduced to the island and a selection of interesting amphibians from around the world from the colourful but deadly Poison Arrow Frogs to the unique Axolotl, a rare newt which remains as a giant tadpole all of its life.
