Home / Hotels and Accommodation / The Bowl Inn and Lilies Restaurant
Nestling on the south-eastern edge of the Severn Vale within sight of the estuary, the Bowl Inn at Lower Almondsbury is a picturesque whitewashed stone built Inn from the 16thC.
The present building was used by James I''s sheriffs during the first half of the 17thC to try supporters of the Duke of Monmouth. A more recent inhabitant is the ghost of the ''Grey Lady'', seen on various occasions since the 19thC.
This is a truly historic inn, which whilst retaining the warmth and ambience associated with a long established and very popular local inn, lacks nothing when providing today''s creature comforts for both the business and social traveller.
Our rooms offer a homely atmosphere; each room is furnished individually to complement the historic features. Long-lost features such as ceiling beams, wall niches, fireplaces with original surrounds have all been sympathetically restored.
Our conference room provides a refreshingly different venue for your business meeting or seminar and is also a very popular choice for private parties and other social functions. We welcome your enquiries - weddings are a speciality.
