usa > Accommodation > Mortons House Hotel, Corfe Castle, Dorset
Winner of the UK Small Hotel of the Year 2005 and a finalist in the 2006 South West England Awards for Excellence, this sixteenth century Elizabethan Manor House Hotel is situated in the beautiful village of Corfe Castle in the Isle of Purbeck. The Manor is one of the earliest in Corfe and without doubt, the finest. Built in 1590 in the shape of an 'E' to honour Queen Elizabeth I, it has in more recent times been sympathetically converted into a 21 bedroom hotel. Many
of the individual character rooms have views of the Castle and others look towards the Steam Railway and Purbeck Hills.
The 'Dacombe' rooms, with their own terrace and seating area, are situated within the beautiful walled gardens and are 'accessible to all', These spacious rooms are equipped with wet rooms and walk-in showers.
Proud of the 2 AA Rosette awards received for its traditional English cuisine, the restaurant also boasts an excellent wine list. Personally run by the owners, Mortons House has a dedicated team of staff that have your best interests at heart - "Our mission here is for you to enjoy this lovely hotel, the award winning restaurant and the beautiful surroundings".
The location of the hotel provides the perfect centre from which to enjoy this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in this idyllic corner of England, taking in the sights of the Jurassic coastline, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth, Durdle Door and Swanage with its famous Steam Railway and the beautiful beaches at Studland.
