Weddings in Bristol

Amidst picturesque historic ruins, a rural countryside idyll, overlooking the harbour, in a mansion, a museum or a hotel – Bristol has some stunning venues for weddings, no matter what your budget or taste is.

City centre wedding venues

There are traditional and luxurious hotels and mansion houses which all offer exceptional wedding facilities and package options including The Bristol, or Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel or Novotel. You can get married in Bristol’s oldest hotel Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, which has been renovated recently and is next door to the stunning Bristol Cathedral.

Why not get married with the beautiful Clifton Suspension Bridge in the background at Clifton Observatory or The Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin. Or even at Bristol institutions Ashton Gate Stadium, St George's Bristol or Bristol Old Vic Theatre.

For culture lovers, you can get married at Watershed – they city’s leading independent cinema – or perhaps at the newly-renovated Bristol Beacon, where you can say ‘I do’ in a hall with world-famous acoustics! Or tie the knot at M Shed, with stunning harbourside views.

Unusual wedding venues

For couples looking for something extra, then how about a beautiful woodland wedding at Arnos Vale Cemetery. Or for Sherlock fans, get married at the same spot as Martin Freeman's John Watson at The Orangery at Goldney Hall.

If you’re a space or science enthusiast, why not get married ‘under the stars’ at We the Curious’ planetarium, or overlooking the Harbourside in its glass-walled Rosalind Franklin Room.

Perhaps you'd like to get married with a Bristol icon such as Brunel's SS Great Britain or under Concorde at Aerospace Bristol, or for an aquatic themed wedding, get married at Bristol Aqaurium and have the fish as your extra guests!

Countryside & coastal wedding venues

It's not just chic city centre wedding venues in Bristol on offer though, we are surrounding by rolling hills, coastal idylls and scenic country views and the rural wedding venues in Bristol are plentiful. From vineyards and venues with meadows and orchards, to fairytale castles and country houses.

Boutique hotel Berwick Lodge is just on the northern outskirts of Bristol, but feels like a rural escape to get hitched in. De Vere Tortworth Court is hidden on the edges of the Cotswolds (north of Bristol) with its beautiful Orangery and Grade II listed Westminster Suite where you can host your wedding.

Also north of Bristol are Berkeley Castle and Thornbury Castle, both of which host weddings for an historic venue for your historic wedding day. Venturing south of Bristol, Aldwick Estate has its own vineyard and event space as well as rooms to stay in overnight for weddings, or go west to the coastal town of Weston-super-Mare and get married on the The Grand Pier for a unique venue on the sea!

Most of these venues have wedding licenses so that you are able to tie the knot and celebrate in the same place. However, there are also many beautiful churches and sacred buildings for the ceremony before heading somewhere else for the reception.
