About
The Old Market Assembly has been open since 2015. The handsome building at 25 West Street houses an award-winning restaurant, a state-of-the-art stage and sound system for music and performance events, a sun-drenched roof terrace, and The Wardrobe Theatre showing original, fringe theatre, at the back of the venue.
A zero-tolerance venue, everyone is welcome at Old Market Assembly. Aiming to create a safe space for people to come together, celebrate and relax. A cosy snug, a grand mezzanine, a stunning, sunny roof terrace or the whole venue. Most of The Old Market Assembly can be hired for special occasions. From birthdays to wedding receptions, providing a full-service event production including catering, staff and entertainment.
Their ethos is underpinned by a commitment to Sustainable, Ethical, Local and Fair values.
South West produce is at the heart of their offering. Knowing where the food and drink come from, how it has been prepared, and even the names of farmers and producers. Aiming to source everything from within a 100-mile radius and keep it fresh with seasonally changing menus.
This runs through our culture with perfected pizzas at lunchtimes or pre-theatre and sharing meals to linger over late into the evening. Not forgetting the Sunday Roast jewel in the crown. Lauded all over Bristol, our stacked roasts span vegan, veggie and meat and are served with crispy potatoes roasted veg, a giant Yorkshire and lashings of delicious gravy.
Meat is always high-welfare and farmed in the South West, fish is responsibly sourced from local rivers, estuaries and seas and veg is freshly picked. Knowing suppliers by first name, and through regular communication ensures they are up to date on availability, seasonality and farming practice.
The bar is stocked with an ever-changing diverse and enviable range of local craft ales, lagers and ciders from Bristol’s favourite brewers, including their exclusive lager in partnership with Wiper & True, Homegrown. The wine list is exclusively European with fossil-free imports from Portugal that arrive by sailboat. Their spirits are an inspired selection of Bristol distillers working with new and innovative practices, creating refreshing takes on classic flavours.
